A simple signature is nice just to identify a person's fleet if anything else. If someone is talking about his/her car with a problem etc, it is nice to see what they drive in their signature and prevents the user from having to type it all the time.
For example one my cars is a 2012 Buick LaCrosse 3.6 PIII, that is mouthful and makes a difference in the discussion because of the different front suspension on the PIII etc.
I think I said in my suggestion, to make the signature panel an option that can be turned off. Any user who doesn't want to see other's signatures can have their wish. Most forums with signatures have this option.

true enough tjc, and I was impressed with that..hey, if it's easy to do, great..
I admit that in help forums, I am always amazed at people posting questions about their car, but fail to tell you almost anything about it! Of course with those same sigs, those same posters will not give anyone nearly enough info in their sig anyway so that we can help..

I'm adding an Optional on that Personalized profiles, including avatar and signature.
#41 of 80 what happened to the Most Popular in Forums links?
Jul 12, 2013 (11:26 am)
on the righthand side? It is a nuisance having to go to the top link 'Forums' in order to get to them. Maybe this is just a temporary omission? I hope..
edit - Just checked and now they aren't available from the top Forums link either:(
Must be a temporary glitch..

use the watch feature then you don't have to worry about losing any of your favorites.

You say that assuming that everyone signs in. Sometimes a person just wants to read, so uses less IU by not having to sign in. Furthermore, non-members might want to read some of the more popular forum activity and now they have no idea nor easy link to find them even if they suspect what might be popular.
To be honest, I thought this would be very obvious and am surprised of the need to point it out.

Stickguy, that said though..I didn't mean to possibly sound unappreciative of your pointing out the My Watched Items venue.

#47 of 80 searching for forums
Aug 14, 2013 (9:00 am)
To me doing a search for a specific Forum topic requires a fair no. of clicks. I'd love to simplify and/or streamline that. Negotiating around an Amazon.com. search, for example, is one of the easiest. A given search seems to automatically go to the closest match in a quick seamless manner.
We should have a list of our subscribed Forums if we don't already (correct me if I'm wrong). Sometimes if there are no recent posts I forget how to post to a given forum if I cannot remember the exact title or name of it.
