True Maintenance cost of E-class 2012?

I am considering buying an E-Class 2012. I am debating between that and BMW 5 series. It seems that BMW new car warranty includes maintenance. I don't believe the MB E-Class includes anything like that. I was wondering if someone could comment on what type of maintenance cost could I expect if I get a 2012 car -- used (not CPO .. as I am looking everywhere) with under 20K miles. So, should have at least 2 years and 20-30K miles to go on the original warranty. My assumption is, that if I go with a BMW, the maintenance cost would be zero during the same period?I would be buying the car and would imagine keeping if for a few years and looking at buying extended warranty beyond the original one expires.
