#1 of 4 Why is 2008 Sienna beeping?

We just bought an '08 Sienna yesterday. As we drove it off the lot, we started noticing a beeping sound - a little irregular chirp - that seems to be associated with bumps in the road. Unless the road is brand-new smooth pavement, we hear it every few seconds, and if the pavement has a lot of cracks, the van twitters at us like an angry mother bird. It's VERY sensitive and seems to be getting more so every time we drive it - I really wouldn't have ever noticed most of these bumps if there wasn't a beep.
There are no warning lights or anything that we have noticed. What is causing it, is it a problem, and can we turn it off?

I get a chirping noise in my 2008 Sienna whenever transmission is out of park and one of the rear sliding doors are open or not completly closed.

But is it regular, like a constant beep -beep-beep-beep or is it irregular like beep... beep......... be-be-be-beep-beep... beep... beep-beep................... beep? And do you get a door open light too, or just the beeping?

Update: a friend of ours checked it out and found my husband's digital timer in the cargo space with the rest of the detritus we cleaned out of the trade-in. Apparently it's quite sensitive. And it's got exactly the same pitch and timbre as the Sienna's beeps.
