I have a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica with 72xxx miles. I drove it on a Saturday then the next day I went to start it and nothing. It has all power when I turn the key but does not crank. It's now in the second garage (first couldn't figure out what was wrong) and they can't either. I've had all my car mechanic friends come look at it and they can't figure it out either. We jumped the starter solenoid? and got the car to turn over/crank but still does not start. I've done/tried everything I could think of and don't know what else to do with this thing. I want to honestly junk it, but I still owe money on it, sadly. The alarm system isn't the problem either, starters good, brand new battery.

Did you get this resolved? There are shops/technicians who specialize on working with the computer controls and electronics on today's cars. For them this wouldn't be difficult at all. If need be I can help you locate a diagnostics specialist in your area.

That has to do with the Range Sensor.
My pacifica had the same issue. The matter is that your transmission can't sense in what shift it is, and therefor, since its not in park, it will not allow the vehicle to start.

I tried to change it, but its way to dificult. The range sensor is on $30, but is way inside the transmission.
I rather ask the dealer for a quote. Ask if there is any recall on the vehicle.
I know that there has been problems or recalls about the PTC power train control module. But it may be your lucky day.
If the vehicle is in good shape, I would rather look for a professional opinion. Don't mess with alternative mechanics. The dealer may have a short way to replace that piece. Besides, it has to be reconfigured your transmission.

Hope this helps.
