#1 of 5 Rotor ripoff? by ochssk

I got tired of driving with warped rotors on my '02 Outback LLBean and decided to bite the bullet and go for some upgraded front rotors. I trusted my mechanic to pick out something that would hold up and they selected Centric rotors model 120.47018. When I did my research Centric seemed to be fairly respected. What surprised me is they charged me $134 per rotor. From what I can see online they cost at most $60. Someone please tell me I missed something....

Your mechanic didn't buy them online.

Did you ask them why they charged you so much?

I'm sure they followed the typical parts scenario ... buy from parts supplier at a discount, charge customer list price.

Yup, they always mark up parts, plus there's shipping.

Mark up does seem a bit high in this case.
