#1 of 5 How to permanently disable a 2009 Spectra TPMS light?

My Spectra was driven over a curb, resulting in 3 damaged wheels. I replaced the damaged steel wheels with aftermarket steel wheels. Steel wheels from the dealer were almost twice as much. The aftermarket wheels will not accept the valve stem with the sensor for the TPMS. Consequently, the TPMS light stays on. Is there a way to permanently disable the TPMS system to make the dashboard light go off? Thanks......

I'd like to disable it since it seems to be a problem. I had new tires put on and when calling back, I was told the mec a nick forgot to reset it. I'd rather not make the long drive. I'd appreciate some input on this issue with the TPMS light always on.

tpms is law and cant be disabled. all vehicles have it unless its an older car... is light flashing (problem with system) or just on (low tire pressure)??? on hyundai shouldnt be anything to reset unless they changed valve stems. are original aluminum valves still there??

Unfortunately, you cannot disable the system. It was installed as a safety system and cannot be disabled. Until you install the sensors, the light will always be on.
