#1 of 1 High Pitch Squealing Noise coming from radio

Let me see first say, I am beyond PISSED that I am stuck with this POC because we would be upside down some to trade it in AND with the current issues I have wrong with it right now, the KBB value is not going to be anywhere close to what it says. The purchase price was steep on this for us and now look what we have to deal with (as soo many others are!!!!)
Anyways for over a year or two now (I can't believe I've deal with it this long), there would be this loud squealing high pitch noise that we would hear in my van. We could NEVER figure out what in the heck it was, but it didn't matter if the car was on or off it would do it. When the van went in for one of the many recalls we've had, it was noted in the paperwork for them to look at, well of course it was making no noise at that time, so it was written something about it not being something that they could look at because it wasn't happening then. (This was done before my warranty expired and have the paperwork, will this still be covered if I bring it in now that I know what it is? Even though I'm past the warranty now?)
We finally figured out that it was coming from the radio and my husband is assuming it's the hard drive? I have the radio that is able to have the u-connect (think that's what it's called), but mine wasn't actually installed with that (don't know what the radio is called). I have recorded it on video on my camera so that when I bring it in I can have them listen to this. It's obnoxious and there's not a darn thing you can do other than try and crank the radio up to cover the noise.
Has anyone else had issues with theirs like this? I just got another recall notice in the mail today (5/3/2012)...I still have to find out how much they are going to charge me to look at my entertainment system because my movies won't play, and the remote no longer responds (even with brand new batteries), my tailgate makes this horrendous jerking noise when opened with the keyfob or even the automatic hatch button in the ceiling of the van
