I would get that checked out IMMEDIATELY. There have been reports of oil leaks/burning with this V6 engine which can lead to timing chain problems ($$$). For more information, do an internet search on "Nissan V6 oil leaks".

Thanks dtownfb. I'm on it. One thing I noticed was the problems people were having with the timing chain tensioners and the noise associated with them. None of the complaintants mentioned the noise quieting down after a few minutes. Got anything?

Some Quest owners have reported the noise at certain RPMs as well. I think if it gets to the point where the noise is constant, then you are looking at an expensive repair. I would avoid that at all costs.
Hopefully the oil leak can be repaired inexpensively. In the meantime, I would make sure the oil level stay at the full mark by adding oil.
I had to deal with an "oil burner" with my 200o0 Olds Intrigue. I carried a 5 gallon jug of Walmart Super-tech oil in my trunk to add in between oil changes. I really don't miss that car.

Read through this forum about an oil leak from the oil cooler: http://questdriver.com/node/620#comment-3970
Evidently it's a simple fix. This could be the same problem you are having.
Good luck.
