Hey ranger experts,
The only car I have ever owned just failed smog. she failed smog because of too much unburnt fuel in my exhaust. The aceptable amount is 200 and im at 370... Here is a short list of things I want to do this weekend.

Clean distributor cap
Replace air filter
Check and repare vacuum hoses. ( there was a vacuum leak a few years back)

Last year I changes the spark plugs.

Besides this, can anyone think of anything that i can do personally that will help? im not a mechanic but Im not afraid to get my hands dirty. Any information would be a great help.

Only thing I've heard about tests is to make sure your auto is fully warmed up. Drive it seveal miles at freeway speed, get it all nice and warm.
