My temp gage started acting up about a week ago not going back to cold and just staying at the 12 o'clock position even after setting all night then moving to the hot position for normal driving. Now It starts in the hot and runs normal at around the 100 mile marker on the odometer, about 180 degrees off on the dial not the temperature. Any thoughts

Sounds like the gauge itself is inop.
