08 T&C Windshield wiper just died

Is it possible for anything else to break on this POS! Apparently yes. This morning I went to clear the condensation of the windshield (it was 30 degrees overnight in NJ).
The wipers took a second to come on and then made a horrible noise. The driver side wiper drugged across the glass (out of sync with the passenger side). Then the wiper broke off, flew off the car and in the street. And the broken part drug across the glass leaving behind huge scratch across the windshield.
 
I can't get the wiper blade back on, the plastic part broke, to see if the wipers will work.
 
Anyone else wipers have died?
