#67 of 88 New Site in not an upgrade by reubenm

Jan 20, 2013 (9:35 am)

I'm sorry to say that I have found the new site quite disappointing. What I liked of the old format is that is seemed to be designed for true auto enthusiast. It was simple to navigate, something interesting to read everyday.

Now it seems like any other site, like Cars.com, or MSN Auto

The future cars section seems to have disappeared.

I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this way.

#68 of 88 Agreed with all- new "What's Hot" is terrible by thedream21479

So....Edmunds, you screwed the pooch on this one- IL was a great site. The new site is terrible and I find myself frustrated with the poor organization and navigation. I don't think I'll be visiting this site nearly as much anymore.

Sadly, I must concur. I used to visit IL every day, often multiple times a day. I no longer even bother with the What's Hot section. It is dated-looking, delivers content very awkwardly, has tiny images and there is a severely restricted comment facility. I will find other sites. This is just really sad and quite awful.

#70 of 88 Bring back IL! by cheechmo

Add me to the list of frustrated users. If there is any way to roll back to the old Inside Line, I would hope that Edmunds considers it. The redesign/merge/lobotomy/whatever you want to call it is a resounding dud, in my opinion.

#71 of 88 Past Long Term Tests by cp15

Jan 24, 2013 (11:28 am)

In the change from IL to Whats Hot the past long term vehicles are no longer listed. The 1985 911 that was recently part of the long term fleet inspired me to search for one myself. Now I wanted to go back and re-read some of the write-ups, but they don't seem to have made it through the change. I have searched but come up empty. Am I missing something?

Most of our past long term test articles are still available. A good way to find them is to type the year, make and model (e.g. 1991 Acura NSX) into the search box in the upper right-hand corner of any page of the site and click "Find." You'll see links to the long term articles in the search results.

Unfortunately, the 1985 Porsche 911 content was not migrated from Inside Line to Edmunds -- mainly because Edmunds publishes vehicle information only for model years 1990 to present. However, you can still access the 1985 Porsche 911 content here: 1985 Porsche 911 archive

Thank you, but this archive does not have any of the links active for the various months or continue reading. All links lead to the new long term road test site.
