Sorry, the new Avalon is still UGLY. The whale-shark mouth grill is hideous and does not go wth the car at all.

Since the Lexus ES350 is out maybe they are watching the sales on that to decide on a pricing strategy for the Avalon. Given they are built on the same platform they need to price them in such a way that Avalon does not cannibalize Lexus sales which they sell more of.

A fully loaded Avalon will most likely be around the same price as a base ES. It's been that way for awhile now.
