You mention putting a cushion in the seat, so I have to tell you my story. I bought a new 2000 Avalon XLS with bench seats. The driver's seat looked identical to the ones that came with the console and I didn't think to check the adjustments. Well, it turned out that the seats that came with the console had adjustable lumbar support, but the bench seat models had fixed lumbar support. From hell. Well, at least my bad back didn't like it. At all. PAIN.
OK, I found just the right pillow and put it in just the right place and everything was fine. Really comfortable. A few years pass and I'm at the dealer, getting an oil change. Another customer asks me about my pillow and the dealer's service guy overhears my story. He steps up big. "You shouldn't pay over $30K for a car and then have to use a pillow like that." He called Toyota. The car was 3 years old (out of warranty). Didn't matter. He got Toyota to agree to customize the seat for me. He sent me to a local auto upholstery shop. The guy pulled the seat, took it apart and re-contoured the lumbar area. Didn't cost me a penny. Did the trick, too.
I sure was impressed. Still am. With the dealer and with Toyota too.

WOW! You must have a great dealer. I complained to the dealer I bought the car from and begged them to do something. They said they couldn't do anything about it. Went to my dealer that I have all my service done at and they said they couldn't do anything about it, also. I even ask them who did their after market leather on their cars and they said they wouldn't be able to fix the seats either. I can stand it around town, it's just when I drive on a long trip.
#104 of 716 3m film

I just got my 05 Avalon back from the body shop. Looks brand new. I am wondering if anyone out there that has an older model car had the 3m film put on the bumper and hood. I am wondering how it holds up as it ages. Any discoloration? Does it peel off? Does the color of the car look different than it does under them film since that paint doesn't get polished? I would like to have it put on my bumper since toyota paint quality is so bad. My old bumper looked awful with all the rock chips and I don't drive on the highway except about 3 times a year and I am very careful not to follow behind trucks, etc. The body shop guy said I would have to wait 90 days. By that time, it will probably already have chips, but if not, I'd like to have it put on just the bumper. The hood and mirrors have too many chips.
