I just bought a 2011 equinox,
 
when I got home and opened the "sun glasses" storage on the dash I found the dealer had taken the thing apart and just hid 2 springs, 2 pegs and bolts under the red rubber mat.
 
Does anyone have a picture of how these springs go back on, does the lid open by itself or do these springs just help it stay open?
 
I dont see a way to hook these springs to the lid.

The storage unit lid is suppoded to pop up slowly by itself.
 
The car is new and has a bumper to bumper warranty...take it back to the dealership and ask for them to put it back togetehr properly. If they don't...take it to another dealership. I would not try and fix it myself while you still have a good warranty.

The unit was broken where the springs push the lid, after I took a closer look.
 
I had a local dealer order a new one..
