Mazda 5 battery

I'm assuming you solved it by now, but just for posterity and other readers:
The cover is not bolted down. There are just some clips and it is easy to remove. The negative cable should be attached to the chassis connection which is nearby.
The positive cable connects to the closest battery terminal to the front of the car.
