The front trans seal (by the pump) went out in my 98 Astro AWD. The replacement seal costs $3. The labor supposedly books at 12 hours. I'm not against doing the labor myself- especially if labor will cost me $600- but was hoping for some labor saving tips. Bolts on driveline are 8mm, but not room for a socket. Ideas? How far back do I need to slide tranny to get old seal out and new in? Any other tricks I need to be aware of?Thanks.
