A 3/4-ton traditionally means the 250/2500 series of van or pickup, which is available payload of well over 2000 pounds. The 1-ton 350/3500 series trucks are notably higher than that, and if they are talking about a full-size van or a full-size pickup with no less than a cab-height topper/camper, this sounds like they're doing some serious volume.
 
Call to verify what the normal loads are in terms of size and weight, but on the surface, I'd say your Ranger is not up to this task.

kcram is right on the money. our little ole rangers are 1/2 ton at best. you could do some serious damage trying to exceed that limit especially if you are logging miles at high speeds on the interstates.
