The AC on our 2007 Odyssey does not work correctly. The problem is that the driver's side vent only outputs air that is slightly cooler than the outside air temperature. The passenger side vent works great, cranking out very cool air after running for ~ 30 seconds. No matter how long the AC runs, the driver's side stays warm. The dual controls (driver and passenger side) are both set to maximum cool.
 
We took the van to the local dealer (Sunnyvale, CA). They said the problem was with the condenser ("rock" damage, not covered by the extended warranty). They said they would fix it by replacing the condenser for $980.
 
Would a problem with the condenser only affect the driver's side vent? To me it seems like it would affect both sides.

I added some refrigerant that included something to help stop leaks. For the past 3 weeks the AC has worked well on both sides! I was very surprised. I still don't understand how low refrigerant would account for such a big difference in temperature between the passenger side and driver's side. It doesn't make sense to me. But adding the refrigerant did solve the problem.
 
Now I'm monitoring it. If it turns out the leak is pretty slow and I only have to add a new $20 can of refrigerant once or twice a year, I'll probably hold off on the $980 repair.
