#1 of 2 2001 Sienna - A/C sounds - what could it be?

Hi. My 2001 Sienna XLE has 136,000 miles on it and last summer the van started making sounds when the A/C was on. There is a squealing and something that sounds like a belt problem. I'm curious as to what this is and possibly a cost. There was an error code produced last summer that caused me to bring in the van for service. I do not have the paperwork in front of me but it had to do with the air system. I was hoping that the error code produced had to do with this problem - but it did not.
Yes, I would have dealt with this sooner but I am always fearful that I am being ripped off as a person with two X chromosomes. Also, cost scares me. Well, I decided today that I better get it checked out lest it be something really bad or ends up with an explosion of some sort. Anyways, I'm all ears (or eyes would be the case). I'll give any other symptoms you may need - please ask.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
#2 of 2 Fault code and other services - August 31, 2010

I pulled the service notes - "Fault code P0174" sent the van to the service center -
what they did - Cleaned mass air flow sensor (that was the fault code; as i was told);
and additional service: serviced throttle body, replaced PCV valve, replaced timing belt.
