#1 of 2 Honda Remote Start or Viper Ready Remote? by maclopez

HI Everyone,

We are about to purchase a 2011 Touring Elite and need to decide on the remote start option. The dealer is recommending very strongly to go with the Viper system vs. the Honda option. From what I understand the Honda option is good because the Odyssey is already "preset" for this. However, there are challenges with having to use your key to unlock then turn-off/restart the car if you've used the remote start.

Does anyone have any insight, thoughts? The price difference is quite significant as well - the Honda one is double to cost for the Viper.

Thanks!

I just had one added to mine, its from Avital. It was much less then the one from Honda. One caveat, you have to open the sliding doors with the normal remote before hitting remote start or you will have to manually trigger them.

Once the car is idling the normal remote functions don't work. Its no different from having one key in the ignition and trying to use the other one to trigger the door or rear hatch.
