I learned I probably have a short in my drivers side rear tail light electrical harness. So I need to replace it. Any idea how to get to where it's spliced? I'm sure it's just behind the hole where it comes through to plug into the tail light assembly. Do you have to do any damage to the interior behind the back seat inside the vehicle? Anyone know where I can get instructions online on how to remove what needs to be removed (carpet, etc.)?

i had same problem on 99 venture. take rear tail lamp off and cut wires about 2 inches from plug and reconnect with but splices. also I was wondering if the harness on end were it plugs into the tail lamp was was all burnt or melted ? if so check for bad ground behind drivers seat pillar. these vehicles were noted for electical problems do to water from a/c dripping behind carpets and shorting out electrical components as the wiring harness runs along the floor in front of drivers and front passenger seat
