#1 of 3 2011 Volvo XC90 Electronics "Reboot"
Mar 03, 2011 (1:48 pm)
We just purchased a brand new 2011 XC90. Every once in a while (maybe 1 out of 5 times you start the car), the electronics will "reboot every 55 - 60 seconds. By that I mean that the NAV screen goes blank for a moment, and then restarts the initiation process; the stereo "blanks out" completely and then comes back on a few seconds later, etc. And it will keep doing it, over and over, every minute.
Has anyone seen it? Our local Volvo dealer claims we are crazy (we have not yet been able to bring the car by when it's happening), but we are in a very small market and they don't even sell the XC90 here.
Any advice welcome.

Some dealers have a gizmo that will monitor the OBDII ports and record any anomalies; not sure if that would work in this case with the in-dash nav and stereo. You could drag a digital camera along and use the video mode the next time it happens.
