Today it's varying between virtually instant and mollasses (30-60 sec).
Just a WAG, but maybe a server needs a slap?
There are othet high volume sites that have forums attached like this one, and there are high volume forums, and in my experience they all suffer occassional problems, but this is the only one where problems such as slow loads, log in issues, problems making posts, etc., etc., along with continual 'upgrades' (and I don't remember one that meets the definition), seem to be an intrinsic part of the site's function.
It's as though the IT department is continually growing and securing its future by making sure that there will always be major problems to be fixed and 'upgrades' to be introduced.
If this site were a car it would be a Citroën SM Maserati; large, unusually styled, and with the potential for high speed but in practice continually problematic:
Having systems unlike any other, that require constand maintenance and repair by a full time team of specialists:

Yes, anything based on Vbulletin seems to be very quirky. The only page that ever loads slowly (for me) here on Edmunds is "my watched items" if you watch a lot of threads and haven't been here for a day or so it takes a while to compile all the threads that have new posts.

I don't seem to be having the problem with editing that was going on on here for a while. You know, when you selected the post of yours to fix something everything was just disappearing? Well, actually, that fouling up was fixed for me several months ago, I just didn't come on here and mention it. I don't have any glaring problems with the site right now. I'll come back and mention them if I do. As long as we can post pictures and post links and chat till our little hearts content about vehicles I'm a happy inland Pacific Northwest camper.

I agree with some other users that sometimes it loads almost instantly, then in a few moments is is very, very slow. It seems that the longer I am on the site the slower it becomes. Rather frustrating.

Wow! You must have made some adjustments over the weekend. This morning the download speed on the forums is consistently fast. Reporting from the Niagara area.

Do you primarily navigate Forums from your Watched Items and/or using Read New Posts? Do you experience the same issues anywhere else on Edmunds sites, i.e., Inside Line, Auto Observer, Edmunds.com, Edmunds Answers etc.?

Hey Karen, yes I do. However, opening Watched items is rarely slow, it's going to the forums listed in it that can sometimes take an age, as can waiting for a reply to post.
Not always, but enough to sometimes make me look to see if my internet connection has gone down!
