98 Caravan Instrument Panel/Speedometer Problem

For a few years now I have been using the quick fix of "pounding the dash" to correct the problem of the instrument panel failing. Recently after giving the dash a hearty whak, the speedometer needle popped out and is laying at the bottom of the cluster behind the glass. Is there any fixes?

Do what I did to solve both problems, go to the junk yard and buy a a panel for about $25. It took me 1 hour to disassemble the dash and put it in. No more troubles.
