Preowned Honda Accords - Real World Prices Paid?

I am looking at a 2009 EX-L with 7800 miles for sale at a dealership. It was traded in on a Hyundai Sonata in June 2010. The CarFax and everything looks legit. I have driven it and I am thinking about swapping tires with the new Michelins on my current car, a 2006 Honda EX-L V6 with MT, which seem to be much better than original equipment tires. The dealer wants $22K for the car. Does that seem a bit high to anybody but me?

Depends on your location, and if this is a sedan or coupe.
 
KBB retail for a sedan of that trim is a little over 22k. Looking at ads that are placed, the more real world number varies from about 19k to 25k. The price depends on what the dealer thinks they can get, and how much they are into the car for (how good of a deal they gave on the trade to move the new car off the lot +repairs+recon). Since this is at a Hyundai dealer, it's not a Honda certified pre-owned car, which adds some value.
 
Frequently dealers trade these low mileage cars amongst themselves to get their own brands back so they can take the CPO route for more profit, and to capture sales from people who can't or won't afford a new one.
 
I recommend some online ad searching to see what you can turn up in a 25 or so mile radius around your location to use either as bargaining tool or to find an alternate seller who will deal.

You answered your own question. Buy a new 2010. High resale,1 year old, cars are best bought new.
