Yesterday the check air bag system appeared in the digital readout appeared. I have a 2006 hhr LT with a 2.4 Ltr engine & 67000 mi. I have had no impacts.Any ideas why this happened?

You will have to get codes checked to see what it is complaining about, but first guess I would think it may be wiring under seat (either driver side or passenger).

Does anyone know where I can get a code reader that will read the air bag codes? I recently purchased a Actron CP4980 that I was told would read these codes but then the techinican at Actron told me that they didnt have the ability to read any airbag codes on any vehicles, this thing cost me 250.00 plus I bought the complete Helm service manuels for the 2009 HHR,another 170.00, it has every code that is in the hhr but I need to find a meter that will read the codes- All Messages Displayed
