2007 dodge grand caravan with 6 disc player has sound but the dvd screen goes white. i have tried several different dvd's. anyone have any ideas?

I have the same problem with my 2007 Grand Caravan. Took it to dealer yesterday to have rear evaporator replaced and the dvd player checked. Since it's out of warranty, they charged me $85 to look at the dvd player and say they don't know what's wrong with it. They "think" it might be a bad screen but it would be another $300 to take it apart to find out. For that much, I can buy all three kids their own personal dvd player and not worry about it.
