The gas lines above the fuel tank where leaking and I was told that they were plastic and a mouse chewed them. Is this a common problem? Also I was told that they would replace the lines with the same plastic lines and I wondered if they a better solution. I cannot afford to pay the estimated $500. very often.

Weird - I had rodents chew up some ignition wires, and some chipmunks messed up the wiring harness on my Sienna to the tune of $700+!

I keep moth balls in the car port just in case, and they haven't been back since.

Good luck.

This is a serious problems. Remove the low pressure fuel line from the fuel regulator. This is required to get proper access to the high pressure line.
