I had a Miata that ate spark plug wires every 30k miles like clockwork. I changed the ones on my 98 Forester at 60k miles, too.

Do you turn the key to the "start" position immediately after you get in the car? If so, try turning it to "on" for a couple of seconds (such as enough time to fasten your seatbelt), then attempting to start. The fuel pump may just need a little more time to prime the fuel system.

No, I haven't tried doing this but I will today.
 
I just have never had to think of doing anything special because the car just always started right up. If it is a fuel injection problem, I hope I can get it fixed permanently.
