Remove straight boot plug

I have a 94 Safari - 4.3L V6 - & I have no issues removing the spark plug boots from the 1,2 5,6 cyl. but the straight boots that are like 4in long on 3,4 cyl are very hard to get at to remove - whats the best way to remove them?
