#1 of 1 Side Power Sliding Door and Window Do Not Work by fjtbeenhad

Jun 26, 2010 (10:15 am)

On my 2008 Dodge Caravan the driver automatic side sliding door would not open or close and the window was stuck down.

In order to to get the window up and have it closed until I can work on the issue further. I used a 12 volt battery. First remove the panel over the inside door handle (two screws), disconnected the window switch, removed one screw holding the entire side panel in place (same area as the two other screws) and removed the panel by unseating the plasic pins from their holders. Then disconnected the switch harness from the window motor, To prevent an electrical short separate the two pins, I used a piece of cardboard, then inserted two wires, one on to each pin and touched the other ends to the battery. One way makes it go up the other down. This moved the window up and closed to protect the car until such time as I can have the issue properly diagonsed.

If you have had a similar experience I would love to get further information. Hope mine helps.
