I need to remove the panel on the rear hatch on my '07 Forester in order to access the rear latch. Not sure how do this without destroying the panel.
Thanks in advance.

I have done this on my 2006 Scion xB to tighten the latch, but not on my 2008 Forester. To remove the panel covering the interior of the hatch, you need a flat forked panel removal tool, available at any auto parts store such at Pep Boys or Auto Zone. The tool fits around the peripheral plastic snap fasteners, to pry the cardboard panel off without damage. Still, some of the plastic fasteners get damaged by extraction, so I would go to the dealer and order half of them so they are on hand before you start.
