I've just left the dealership that I am purchasing an Impreza wagon at. I wanted to think about the "add-ons" that the F&I guy was trying to push at me. I drive in the 8000-10000 range per year as this is a second car for the family.He started out quoting the Subaru Gold EW at $2200, but quickly started dropping down as I backed off. He finally quoted $1500 for the 7yr/70,000 gold warranty. Was that high? What is the actual dealer cost of this warranty? He said, in the end, that he would give it to me "$5 over cost." Did he?

No, that isn't $5 over cost. You should be able to get the 7/100 with zero deductible for $1,500, so the 7/70 (you didn't mention deductible amount) should be less.
