I had that sensor replaced at my dealer in Alberta and it didn't help. The idiot signal light still remains. i wrote a letter to Honda Canada to complain and they told me the idiot signal is a normal thing for this new generation. What a joke!

We are trying to decide between the 2011 Odyssey Touring vs the Elite. I like the idea of a larger DVD screen, but don't think I will be putting in 2 different DVDS/games for the kids. Here is my question- if there is only DVD playing, will it take up 1/2 of the 16in screen? or 3/4 of the screen? and is it centered? There is a shortage of Elite's in my area, so I can't really find one to try it on

we just got done with a 6 week trip and drove the kids everywhere. if you are going for the Touring/Elite just for the entertainment factor may I suggest just getting how many kids you have an IPad instead. We have two 4.5 y/o and they like those (we like them with headphones in). they can play games and with some initial prep they'll have videos stored on them. We used a wireless card so they were able to pull Netflix for them which gave them more than enough movies. Plus we don't have to hear the cries for the DVD player on the way to the grocery store.
If you are set on it still use this as your mindset so they dont stick it to you because it's the only two with the options (We have the EXL/Nav). Good luck and hope this helps.

The full screen can be utilized to watch a DVD on the Elite. Also, I've grown to really like the blind spot warning system. The xenon lights are also a nice touch. We've owned our Elite for about 3 months and 4k miles now, and have experienced absolutely no problems. I would definitely go with the Elite if you can locate one.

I just bought a Honda Odyssey 2012 Touring Model. I just sold an Acura MDX 2007 due to some issues with leg space and comfort as my kids aren't getting any younger. I highly recommend the Honda Odyssey to anyone who wishes to travel comfortably and enjoy a fun drive. This van is perfect for people who have big families or have young children.
BEST MINIVAN EVER!!!

This is the second incident with my less than year old Odyssey. During my first oil change, my windshield cracked (large crack across 3/4 length of windshield). The dealership said that several 2011 Odyssey windshields were improperly installed and there had been other incidents of windshields cracking.
Today was the worst...first my engine light came on, could not accelerate followed quickly by smell of burning rubber and a horrible noise. I had the van towed to the dealership. A failed spool valve was named as the source. I can't help but feel like there is long term damage to the engine.
I thought I could count on Honda for quality. Guess I was wrong.
How has anyone else addressed a problem with a new Honda vehicle?

I am not happy t hear this. Makes me wonder what will happen to mine next as I am still perturbed about the low battery warning signal coming on continuously and basically cutting out my interior lights everytime I turn off the ignition. It is extremely annoying. I guess sticking with the Odyssey and Honda may have not been a wise decision afterall.

After waiting about 4 months to get an Odyssey, this is the deal I was given:
The Drive-out for the Odyssey EXL w/ Navigation. MSRP 2011 Odyssey EXL w/Navigation $37,535.00
Internet Price** $33,102.00
Destination & Handling $810.00
Window Tint $145.00
Protection Package $339.00
State Sales Tax 6.25% $2,149.75
Vehicle Inventory Tax $72.33
License Fee $72.30
Inspection & Title Fee $61.75
Documentary Fee $125.00
TOTAL Drive-Out $36,877.13
I could have done without the tint and protection package of course, but they wouldn't take it off. I also opted for the 8year/100k Honda Care; their initial offer was $1800, but thanks to these forums, got it for $1295. I'm happy with the deal. Also got the 0.9% for 36 months. This is with no trade in.
