Folks,I'm wondering, is there a way to disconnect AWD and have my GF's 2003 Aerio SX be driven only by RW or FW drivetrain?

I imagine that it would involve more than just removing or replacing parts. You'd have to reprogram the car's computer to accommodate the new drive configuration, which is somewhat hard to do on your own since the code is proprietary. It would be far easier to buy a used 2003 FWD vehicle.
