#1 of 4 Limp/Fail Safe Mode and TCM Low Power

My 2008 Chrysler T&C has been in the shop four times in 1.5 months for the same problem. The car keeps going into limp/fail safe mode. The transmission is fine, but it won't shift when in the mode. The code is always the same and indicates power failure/low power to TCM. They have changed the TCM and checked electrical lines and it keeps happening. I'm very frustrated. I have two young kids and this car is to cart them around and it is unreliable and can't be fixed. Chrysler keeps telling them to do random things and it keeps reoccurring. The only common denominator there might be is cold and wet weather conditions. Any thoughts?

It may just be a faulty connection - perhaps dielectric grease on the connectors will help?
You may also want to look into Lemon Law statues in your state to determine if you should pursue the option of the manufacturer buying back the vehicle since they are unable to resolve this major issue.

That's a good point xwesx made. Anytime something happens when it's wet or damp (foggy) outside, look for an electrical problem.

The technician thinks it is some random electrical issue. We have filed a dispute with Chrysler. It is at their "Senior" status. Whatever that means. The technician was told to change the TIPM unit today. Let's see if that finally fixes it. I'll keep you posted.
