Had the same problem with my 1999 Venture. I hope I can help you, doesn't hurt to try.
That sensor on my Venture was near the hood's latch screwed on the metal frame just behind the grill.
Since it was a GM product...it may be there.

We just hit 80,000 miles on our HHR love the car but we just started have a issue this week driving down the road, the locks started unlocking while driving (going crazy) then on the dash the check engine light started flashing, started having problems with the power steering and then the transmission was going crazy (felt like it would go from D to N to 1 and 2 gear. what the heck is going on???- gmcustsvc (Jun 08, 2010 8:04 am)
