I just assumed the Forester had stainless steel exhaust. Is this not the case?

That's long enough that any condenstation will burn off and evaporate. It's the short trips that kill an exhaust, where the exhaust doesn't even get a chance to warm up properly.

Well, even though I have 2010 Forester, I am not sure of the exhaust materials. The exhausts were SS back in the late '90s, but then the cars came standard with many items that are now options, so cost cutting is the name of the game these days. It should be covered within the emissions warranty, shouldn't it?

I'm not sure either, to be honest. I googled it and was buried in hundreds of ads for aftermarket stuff.
