#1 of 9 A Peek At The 2010 G37 by mister880

Here's a look at the face-lifted G37 for 2010. Not much change, but i think that's fine. BTW, i wonder how much it's going to cost to replace cracked fog light lenses now that they're exposed.

My wife is looking at the G 37 Sedan. It would be a lease. We have only driven a base Journey as a loner for my M45. Is the 10 worth waiting for. As she will be looking at a loaded car, is the sport a much better ride? We usually buy out the lease at the end.

Hi, i leased the new '09 G37xS sedan in Aug. after returning my '07 G35x. The only real change has been the new motor and trans. Other than that, the cars remain pretty much the same, and that's "a very good thing"! With the exception of the new M-5 Bimmer, ($96K?) i wouldn't trade my G37 for anything else! My '09 has the S pkg. I was a bit concerned that the ride would be too hard, but (for my taste) it's fine and the car does handle better. It's only slightly firmer than my non-S '07, and not nearly as harsh as my '04 FX35 w/S-pkg. was. That one was a kidney-killer! I always lease, but personally, i don't find buying the car after the lease to be a good idea, since you end up paying a lot more for it. That might be something you would want to give some serious thought to. From what i've read, the '10 G37 won't be much different than the '09. Perhaps a few new color choices, and that would be a good idea. I understand the G is not due for a complete make-over until '12, if not later. Personally, i love it just the way it is. Good luck...

Well, the 2009 G37 Sedan comes with the standard suspension and the 7-speed automatic (with a manual sequential shift mode).

The 2009 G37S 6MT is the sedan with the sport tuned suspension (i.e. tighter ride) and the 6-speed manual transmission.

This a pretty good summary of the option packages:

BTW, there do not seem to be any significant changes from the '09 to the '10 model year.

While at the dealer for about a minute the other day, I was told that the sport also comes in an automatic. Is this true?

Hi, the S (sport pkg.) is simply an option, like the premium pkg. or Nav. It includes 18" wheels and tires, paddle shifters, larger breaks, and the tighter suspension. My '09 is the G37xS, which is loaded with premium, sport, nav, and all-wheel drive. And yes, it does have the 7 speed auto trans.

That's interesting. According to the 2009 specification sheet I provided the link to, the Sport Package is not available on the AWD X model. It's a option on the Journey, and standard on the G37S-6MT.

The 18" wheels that are also an option on the Journey and standard on the Sport 6MT are the ones with the staggered wheel/tire sizes, front to back. The 18" wheels available as an option on the X are the same size front and back.

Yes, you can get the Journey (7 speed automatic) with a Sport Package option.

True but it isn't obvious. When I found out I could option it, it was the obvious choice for me anyway. The upside is that the S package is a bargain. I got mine in Lakeshore blue with bone interior, with no other options except the one they found me had tinted windows and a small spoiler that replaces the cheezy chrome lip in the back. It looks fantastic this way with the bigger rims and lack of chrome. I couldn't have the sunroof as I'm 6'4 and it crowded me. The seats are a bit narrow, wish I could have spec'd the Journey seats. It is fine otherwise, a superb car.
