How do you know the check engine light is inoperable? Did you have your trans rebuilt or swap with another unit? The PCS is very well known to fail. If it was a rebuild of the existing trans that $50 part should have been replaced regardless if it was good or not.

I have been using Auto Tap to look around in the computer.
I had a transmission code listed but no check engine light.
The light does not come on when I turn the key.
The trans was rebuilt. What exactly is a PCS?

PCS = Pressure Control Solenoid
As the previous poster mentioned, it's a transmission component that commonly fails on this series of vans. While the part isn't too expensive, the labor is what kills you; I spent about $600 a few months back to have mine done.
Regarding your check engine light, not every code thrown by the computer will trigger a check engine light. Some conditions need to be repeated or exist for a period of time before a the CEL comes on. Have you verified that the CEL works; does it come on briefly as it should when you start the engine?
Good luck.
