My friend had a noise that could be best heard from inside his Rx 2005. The car has 30K miles and the noise sounds like an old fan going bad. We thought at first it was the A/C, but we turned off the A/C and the noise didn't change. When the car was driven, the noise remained the same.My friend parked the car at my place and came in for coffee while we talked about the noise. We concluded it had to be something not related to the engine or the frequency would increase.
When he drove home the noise that he had had for a few days was gone. It will be difficult to ask the dealer to check-out the car without hearing the noise.
So, did anyone have a similar experience with this type of symtom, and if so, what was the problem part?

I have a 2001 and I have a weird interior noise too. It sounds like an animal is scratching to get out from inside the center under the shifter. I really thought that's what it was but it can't be because it has been doing it for over a year now! I thought maybe it was the CD changer in the glove box but it wasn't. Still have no idea what it is!
