Second time in a row, my 1997 express van would not start after a hard rain. Never happened before. It was tuned at 100K miles, now has 130K. any suggestion what might be wrong or where I should start looking.
Thanks

Youve probably already solved this, but for you and others, I have had this problem over the years on my express. The inline distributor cap on 4.3(i dont know what an 8 cyl has) will arc inside on the pole closest to coil pole. my best solution was to use only a Delco cap as I would be lucky to get 3-4 months out of an aftermarket cap in really cool, humid weather. Also you might want to turn on ignition and crank it when it is dark and observe coil for arcing. I have had that problem since the days of my '88 G series. Hope its not the coil, kind of a p.i.t.a.
to replace. Good luck!

Make sure th plastic panel on the driver side is in place correctly over top of the ECM. If it is not the rain water runs down on the ECM connectors and causes them to short the signals all over the place. I even went as far as to seal mine up with silicone foe extra protection. If this piece is missing go get it because you won't resolve your issue an other way.
