#1 of 2 Battery Discharge overnight

I recently had an unexplainable experiance with batteries in my 07 Yukon (40kmiles) and 08 Sierra 3500 Duramax Diesel (6k miles) having dead batteries at the same time one cool (35dg) morning. Never had any kind of electrical problems prior, both are bone stock, are the batteries in the newer GMC's of lower quality? Any help would be apopreciated. Nothing was left on nor plugged in, gps, phone charger etc.

Just had the battery in my 07 Yukon 48000 miles replaced. Went dead, no warning nada! Guy came out to change it and told me some time back Gm changed batteries (cost cutting)? Ever since then he has been changing a lot of batteries on vehicles. Say's the new batteries are junk.
