Well, let's keep in mind that van is probably 10 years old now, so this is more than a tune-up. Usually the 30k (or 3 year) service is small, the 60k (or 6 year) service it big.
 
At 10 years, you're overdue for basically everything. Tune-up, all fluids, timing belt, belts and hoses.
 
I guess it depends on what they did, but the local dealer charges about $400 something for the 3 year service and $600 something for the 6 year service.
 
If you got by for 10 years and only spent $800, I actually think you spent far, far less than most people do.

Yes, I have seen that again and over again in my almost 50 years of driving. Oftentimes I step in and add my "voice" and end up not being very well liked/accepted/welcome at that shop.
 
My '01 F/awd RX300 is now at ~80,000 miles and the next "tune-up", as have ALL the previous ones, will require an oil and filter change, a new engine air filter and a "look-see" at the cabin pollen filter.
 
My '93 Ford Ranger gets, always has gotten, the exact same "tune-ups", and it now has 140,000 miles.
