Well, the factory rep joined with the guys at the dealer, and after spending some time with Pearl, a couple of other 5spds, and several automatics, the factory guy is turning it over to the engineering guys. None of the auto's have the dead spot in the throttle, but all of the manuals do. The computer sees the TPS changing, and everything seems to be working, but the computer is ignoring the first 15% or so of the throttle movement. It appears to be a bug in the software, and the service manager is going to work with the factory rep and see if a fix can be worked into the code. So, sum of all is that it isn't broken, but it isn't right, either.

Just purchased a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring SE w/automatic, mats, tray liner and iPod cable
Sales price was around $17.1k
This is in central Va.
I used a buying service zag dot com so the price was pre-negotiated. I just walked in and signed the papers (already had financing in place).
This is probably the easiest buying experienced I have had.

That is a sweet deal! Does the SE have the sunroof? I got the auto GLS with popular pkg OTD for 17.4 For a bit more you got the wheels and the sunroof. I beleive our taxes are a bit higher than yours. 8% here....

Yes it has the sunroof, roof rails, 17in wheels, heated seats, etc. There were no packages available.
I've been very pleased with the car so far. The cargo capacity is surprising for the size of the car.

This was the lowest price I got near the town. It seemed that this model was very popular recently since most dealers told me that they had no GLS model in store and would locate one for me. I don't think it's a great price. It's my first time to buy a new car. Deal or no deal? Ask for help.

Sounds like a good OTD price to me. Did you pay under 15,300 for the car before taxes, title, etc, etc with the 1000 incentive added? I have the same car as you I paid 17,449.78 OTD. I have the GLS auto with the Popular package though.

What is your zipcode? I can look up what dealers are offering. My subscription is good for 3 months. it wont give OTD price..but it will give sales plus (including incentives freight, etc...but not including tax & tag)

60076, 60053,60016 Check these zip codes. The dealer I bought my car from has plenty of inventory. Let me know if you want the dealers name. Good luck...

Thanks, crowheart. I think you got a very good price. That popular package #2 costs $700 or more. I have to pay about 15,600 before taxes, title and license, but the tax rate here is relatively low.
