Hard Start Rough idle - READ ONLY

My 97'Suburban has gradually gotten hard to start. Now when I try to start it, it sounds like the starter is binding up. But it has a rough idle when it does start for about 15 seconds then smooths out, with a erratic little sputter for about 3 min. Had the timing chain replaced about 20,000 miles ago.
