It reads correctly when starting the vehicle, then goes to full. Is there an easy fix?

2004 Gran Prix. The guage reads accurately when starting the vehicle, the bounces to full and stays there. Is there an easy fix?

I had this problem (2001 Grand prix) it always stayed on full and if you know your car and its 300 miles on your tank and still full... there is a problem it happend to be the fuel sending unit in the gas tank which requires dropping the gas tank.
