#1 of 3 Sunfire weirdness with fan and ac
by gregp74

Ok, my 05 Sunfire (With about 58k miles) has been acting weird for about a week now.
I noticed it when I was sitting in a parking lot idling and listening to the radio while waiting for my girlfriend at the mall. I happened to look down and see the temp gauge was about 1/2 way between then 195 point and the red zone. I shut the car down, and it returned to normal within a few minutes. The fan never came on, though.
It seems to be running a little bit hotter than it used to most of the time now. Not terribly hot, but higher than usual and the radiator fan doesn't seem to be coming on.
Around the same time I noticed that the a/c compressor seems to kick on and off when idling. It works fine while I'm driving, but if I'm just sitting there it kicks on and off after a few minutes and the rpms go up and down. (And in this weather, when the a/c goes off, the defog quits working and windows fog up!)
Looking for any suggestions you guys might have!
#2 of 3 Pontiac Sunfire Heater issues
by paplmab

My 2000 Sunfire heater has only worked on #4 & #5 settings for the past 2 years. Rear defrost all of sudden stopped and now my heater is not working. I found a blown fuse and replaced it but it still blows. Disconnected blower fan and union and fuse still blows. Went to bone yard and replaced the heater switch and the fuse still blows (without being connected to the blower yet). What can I do? I dont know where to start tracing this short. We found melted wires for the rear defrost and replaced the wiring but this did not fix the heater issues.
#3 of 3 2002 Sunfire A/C electrical problem

My granddaughter bought my 2002 Sunfire 6 months ago. Yesterday her A/C stopped cooling. The compressor does not kick in. The shop says it is an electrical problem, but they could not isolate it today in the hour my granddaughter had to wait.
Has anyone else had this type of problem?
