2010 equinox 3.0 has very heavy black soot in tail pipes. dealer says it is normal!!! it seems like air/fuel problem. have 4500km. what do you think?

I think you are right and your dealer is wrong. A slightly black or gray coating could be normal, but not heavy black soot.

Yea, I've black soot accumulating in the tailpipe, but it's no different than my wife's 4cyl '10 VW CC, or my daughter's '09 VW Jetta, which are both 4 cyls also.
